18th Century Folding Stand for a Book, Tablet or Phone

Participants in this three-hour Duluth Folk School class will craft by hand a classic bookstand design from Andre Roubo’s L’Art du Menuisier. Students will learn to layout and form a knuckle joint using chisels. The group will then open the stands by hand, sawing down the length of the boards. Students will then shape, smooth or carve the stand and prepare it for finish.
