148th Fighter Wings’ Cold War Nuclear Mission
Event Navigation
Retired Air Force Brigadier General R. Klosowski will discuss the 148th Nuclear Cold War mission and how that applies to Ukraine and Russia now. The purpose of the talk and fundraiser is to inform the community of the once highly classified mission of the 148th Fighter Wing and its role against the former Soviet Union. Klosowski will also relate a story of how an animal almost started World War III. The monies raised will be used to create a traveling exhibit to better educate citizens throughout the region. An additional long-term objective is to create a sculpture of an airman or flyer with interpretive text along the garden on the north side of the Duluth International Airport.
All proceeds will go to Veterans Memorial Hall. The dinner options will be salmon or chicken cordon bleu, salad, vegetable, potato, dinner roll and dessert. There will also be a silent auction. Checks should be made to SLCHS.
