Internships
Perfect Duluth Day offers internships to qualified college students in writing studies or journalism programs — and sometimes other fields of study. Interns primarily assist PDD’s team of event calendar editors in the research and cataloging of Duluth-area happenings, but can also tailor a part or all of the internship to focus in a particular area of reporting interest.
The basic tasks related to working on the PDD Calendar range from simple data entry to chasing down information and writing creative synopses of events.
Depending on the intern’s particular skill set and interests, other areas of focus could include video production, general news gathering and reporting or a specific project such as covering distinct news beats or profiling something of unique interest.
The successful intern at PDD will work collaboratively to develop assignments and deadlines, but independently to complete projects.
