Students in this class hollow out a branch, cut a slot in the bottom of the cylinder and snap in a bottom piece. The green wood dries and shrinks around the dry bottom locking it in place. Families with children ages 0-5 are invited to this free play, learn and resource fair. Musical performances by Zeb or Zeke and the Run Away Screamings (One Man Band) and the Teddy Bear Band. This year's fest includes free admission to the Train Museum, over 25 tables of activities and resources, a sensory-friendly calm-down space, a baby play and nursing room, face painting and prize drawings all day. This three hour class introduces the craft of greenwood spoon carving. Students finish the class with their own hand carved serving spoon. The first part of class will study safety, knife grips and traditional techniques for carving. For the rest of the class, students transform their spoon blank provided into a completed spoon.
