This class will focus on teaching participants the basics and the how-to of identification of plants and fungi. It is a beginner-level course for those who may be too nervous to try wild plants and mushrooms or for someone who needs guidance in identification. The focus will be on wild edible plants, but foraging can also include searching for fibers, weaving materials and other craft supplies. The class will meet at Chambers Grove at the pavilion. An accessible day of bird-focused fun in the Superior Municipal Forest. Free transportation is available from Superior Public Library at 9:20 a.m. Accessible parking, American Sign Language interpretation and binoculars with a wheelchair mount are provided. A track chair -- an all-terrain, electric-powered chair that can be used on hiking trails -- will be available, along with a scooter and walkers courtesy of indiGO.

The University of Wisconsin-Superior’s Superior Adventures program offers several opportunities for community members to spend a leisurely evening paddling the waters around Superior with its Community Paddle events. All ages and abilities are invited to attend. The experience is guided by Superior Adventures staff certified in CPR.
