Location: The White Pine Picnic Area in the Superior National Forest off Forest Highway 15. This event is approximately an hour from Duluth.

The Strut event caters to Duluth's dogs and dog owners while fundraising for Animal Allies. Attendees can enjoy live music by Christopher David Hanson on the outdoor stage from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Blankets and chairs are welcome. There will also be silly pet tricks with prizes for the winner. Food and beverages are available. Animal Allies is tabling throughout the event.

This is a weekend of races on some of Duluth's trails. Friday kicks off with the Juniors & Open Hill Climb. Saturday's race distances include the Mountain Lap, 5k, The Creeks, 8 Mile and the Forest Track 13.7-Mile. Duluth trail running that includes rocky and rooty climbs, creek crossings and a plunge through Ely's Tunnel in the Forest Track. Runners of all levels are invited. The 2023 musical fantasy Wonka tells the origin story of Willy Wonka, a central character in the 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The Downtown Duluth Council presents Movies in the Park at Leif Erikson Park every Friday at sunset from mid-July to August. Start times differ slightly for each due to sunset. All of the selected movies are family-friendly and rated PG or PG-13.

Options include an emphasis on insects, spiders, butterflies, birds, plants, galls, moths, aquatic species and fungi.
