The Superior Hiking Trail in the Duluth area requires more than 2,000 hours of maintenance each year. Volunteers are needed to assist with this work. The Duluth Fire Department has issued a Red Flag Warning for Park Point beaches through 10 a.m. tomorrow due to the threat of dangerous rip currents. Everyone should stay out of the water regardless of swimming experience. There are no lifeguards at Park Point today. Surf condition flag locations are at the 12th Street beach, Lafayette Square and Park Point Public Beach House. The Tunnel 10k race route takes participants through six tunnels on Interstate 35 through Duluth. The closed course allows runners to experience one of the most unique race routes in Minnesota.
