This two-hour Duluth Folk School course examines first, second and third-person points of view in literature, as well as omniscient. Through reading examples of each, the group seeks a better understanding of what works, what doesn’t and why. Through imagery and writing prompts, participants have an opportunity to tell the same story from a variety of viewpoints. Registration at duluthfolkschool.com is required.

Writer Katie Perttunen teaches writing within six weeks at Foundations of Flash Fiction. Perttunen has published two books, written for three newspapers and was the poetry editor for an online literary magazine. This class is best for ages 12 and older and is for both experienced and beginner writers. Participants will need to bring paper, writing implements and the book "Elements of Style".
