Presented by the St. Louis River Alliance and University of Minnesota-Duluth Recreation Sports Outdoor Program. All gear will be provided, including lifejackets, canoes and paddles. No prior paddle experience necessary. During this event, attendees will learn how to properly fit and wear a life jacket and the basics of cold-water safety and paddle-stroke skills.

This course focuses on body mindfulness in a safe, supportive environment. Participants can explore various methods like the Alexander Technique, reiki, kinesiology and several different dance styles. This class is $20 or pay-what-you-can. It is recommended to wear athletic/nonrestrictive clothing and contemporary/jazz shoes are encouraged but not required. No dance or movement experience is required. This class is best for adults.

Fitger's Brewhouse presents its 37th annual Brewhouse Triathlon. The long course features a 0.93-mile swim, 24.8-mile bike ride and 6.2-mile run. The short course is a 0.5-mile swim, 12.4-mile bike ride and 3.1-mile run. All ages are welcome to participate. Though the Brewhouse Triathlon is targeted toward more advanced athletes, minors are welcome to register, but a parent or guardian must complete the registration on their behalf. Certified instructor Laura Star leads this one-hour, four-session T’ai Chi Chih class. Participants will learn 10 movements of the meditation. The class runs Aug. 5-8 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. T’ai Chi Chih does not require a particular level of fitness or coordination. For those with physical limitations, movements may be done seated.
