The University of Wisconsin-Superior offers several opportunities for community members to enjoy a leisurely evening paddling the waters around Superior with its community paddle events, guided by Superior Adventures staff. Registration includes a canoe or kayak rental package with personal floatation device, paddle and instruction. Register online at uwsuper.edu. Duluth Parks and Recreation offers this class for learning or practicing archery. Participants will learn the basic safety, technique and process for shooting archery and get a chance to test their skills in archery games and challenges. This is an introductory class for families and community members. Participants should wear closed-toe shoes. All equipment is provided. No personal archery equipment is allowed. Dovetail Café and Duluth Folk School host this two-hour class taught by Courtney Cochran of Alseth Acres Apothecary. It is part of the Duluth-Superior Pride celebration. The class focuses on herbalism for LGBTQIA2S+ people through the lens of flower essences or the vibrational healing power of North Shore flowers. Experience guided mindfulness practice in an outdoor setting with staff from UW-Superior’s Pruitt Center and learn some ways to think about mindfulness in natural spaces. Park and meet at the Lake Superior Reserve Estuarium by 3 p.m. Arriving 5-10 minutes early is advised. Come prepared with comfortable clothing and footwear for walking and a pad/blanket for sitting.
