The Duluth Climbers Coalition presents a day of family-friendly outdoor rock climbing at Ely’s Peak. The event is for all ages and skill levels, particularly kids. Climbing gear and instruction is provided at no cost, and there is a free hotdog lunch. Duluth Parks & Recreation will have mountain bikes available and lead guided bike rides on the half hour. Children must have a parent or legal guardian present.

The Circus Science Spectacular closes out this year’s Kaleidoscope series by playing with real-life scientific concepts. Performers Steve Russell and Kobi Shaw use circus arts to demonstrate Forces and Motion, Simple Machines, Matter, Air Power, Chemical Reactions, and more, to kids and their families. The local Gitchee Gumee chapter of Trout Unlimited is providing their expertise to lead free flycasting clinics in different Duluth parks this summer. This is an opportunity for community members to learn about the basic equipment and casting skills involved in fly fishing.
