Ice and salt will be used to compare two batches of ice cream: one batch is hand churned and the other uses an electric mixer. Participants will be taught about the chemistry of the process and create two flavors: vanilla and mint chocolate chip.

The St. Louis River Alliance is organizing a volunteer clean-up event along Billings Drive in Superior. Helpers can arrive when they want and stay as long or as little as they like. The Twelve Holy Apostles church in Duluth hosts the Taste of Greece event each summer to honor community founders who came from various areas of Greece and to celebrate Greek culture and the Orthodox Christian faith. Food served will include lamb, souvlaki (shish kabobs), Athenian chicken, gyros, spanakopita, pastichio, dolmades, homemade Greek pastries and more. There will also be Greek dancing.
