Indigenous Peoples’ Day Celebration
UW-Superior will hold a celebration for Indigenous Peoples Day at the Maawanji’idiwin – “The Place Where We Come Together” Medicine Wheel and Community Gathering Area located in the courtyard near the Yellowjacket Union. Following the ceremony, UW-Superior students will showcase traditional dances. In the event of inclement weather, this celebration will move indoors to the Yellowjacket Union.

The Duluth Art Institute celebrates another big year surreal style. Attendees can eat dinner with "peculiar and distinguished" gala guests, hit the dance floor in a "surreal evening dreamscapes," and explore a maximalist wonderland of "creative and colorful diversions." The event features live painting by Moira Villiard, David Austin, Lin Rose and Mollie Maxine, and a photo op art installation by Cherry Koch. This Halloween Dance and Silent Auction fundraiser features the Ken Sievers Family and Friends Band. The silent auction will include a variety of items. Payment by cash or local check will be accepted. There will be a costume contest with prizes. BYOB. The suggested donation at the door is $8. Proceeds from the event go to the general fund of Lotus Temple, which donates to the Daughters of the Nile Foundation benefitting the patients at Shriners Hospitals for Children.

The Winterers’ Gathering and Arctic Film Festival celebrates the crafts, customs, history and stories that have been inspired by winter.
