Were any of you there tonight from 5:30-7:30? I had a feeling some PDD people were there…but don’t know what you look like…!
Now can we talk about greening up some of these vast swaths of concrete? Let the rainwater seep into the ground instead of running down the streets, pooling in the parking lots?
The DTA (Duluth Transit Authority) has an ask of the community to help restore a vintage 1939 Twin Coach. This 1939 Twin Coach was donated to the DTA on December 5, 2001 by former Duluth School Superintendent, Mark Myles. The Twin Coach sat idle for many years in the woods before the DTA project assumed ownership and began the restoration project. When completed, the Twin Coach will be show-cased in local parades and events. Do you have time to help restore this 1939 Twin Coach? See Jim Brown at work during weekday mornings. Efforts are currently being made to organize volunteers for the coming year. Any donations helpful: tires, time, etc.
My wife had her first orthodontal consult, which began with “we’ll remove these three healthy teeth…”
It made me think I could use some PDD hive mind recommendations and maybe some first person accounts. Help?
On almost every point, Superior suffers by comparison. Duluth has 90,000 inhabitants; Superior has 30,000. Duluth has some of the most impressive nineteenth-century architecture in the Midwest; Superior is famous for asphalt shingles and insulbrick. Duluth is known for first-rate medical facilities; Superior has an oil refinery. Duluth has Spirit Mountain and a ski jump; Superior is flat as a turkey platter. Superior is clearly inferior to Duluth, but if you like an underdog, you have to love that town across the harbor. I sure do.

I’m looking for preferably an English/antique motorcycle enthusiast who might be able to help me weld a couple of small front engine mounts as I transfer a small engine into another frame. I can’t afford too much, prefer barter, like some home brew or something for the effort. Thanks.

Bear cub alert — please “share” this:
There is a lost or abandoned little cub in the Arrowhead/Swan Lake Road area. If you spot him, call Kelly asap at 218-591-2967, while not letting him out of your sight. Kelly and a vet will come out immediately to dart and catch him. We need to catch this guy soon; he’s tiny and has been without mom for more than 24 hours; he won’t survive for much longer without help. Thanks!
Artists and designers — especially those with a special love for the outdoors or horses — are needed to help a new Duluth area trail-building group develop a logo. The Duluth Area Horse Trail Alliance is holding a logo contest that will be the centerpiece of its promotional campaigns.
Am I the only one who has this feeling that Duluth might be the next new thing?
First we have Trampled on Letterman, and then on CNN. Now Tycoons is making the NYT’s restaurant section. We’re slowly getting bigger and better quirky acts to Bayfront (oh, Steve Martin, how I love thee). And I feel like I’m missing some other stuff.
Are we really on the road to becoming TwinPortlandia?
Global Village is accepting casual resumes (list work experience and references) for summer help. Must be: 18+, proficient in basic math, motivated to be useful in exchange for money. Fellas will be considered, but given the volume of women’s clothing we sell through the summer, ladies may be better suited for the position. This is a very sweet summer job, but it is no rainbow gathering. This little, gypsy enterprise requires just as much work as any other business. Resumes delivered between 11-5 on weekdays, and mentioning PDD will have an edge on the rest.
This article sums up something that’s been needling me about downtown Duluth. All of the parking lots the hospitals seem to think they need could be greatly improved with a smattering of trees.

So, long story super short: I have five tickets for the SOLD OUT matinee of “A Chorus Line” at the Playhouse, tomorrow afternoon at 2. Three are together, the other two are singles. The coolest part is: you name your price…and I decide whether or not it’s worth my time to meet you down there for said price! Just give a shout. 2one8.3four1.07nine3
