Does anybody know if Duluth Mayor Don Ness is on Twitter? I seem to recall a mention about it, but I can’t seem to find him on Twitter.
The dog of some out-of-town guests ran away from our yard last evening. 19th Ave E and 5th St. area. Otis is a Bassett mix. Very friendly. If you see him, please call the number on the poster, instead of the one on his tags. Thanks.
With a Facebook account and five minutes of your time, you could win Community Action Duluth a new minivan. We’re up against four out-of-state nonprofits in Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good Contest.
My fiance and I are looking for an attorney to draw up a prenuptial agreement. Does anyone have any recommendations for a local Duluth attorney that won’t charge both arms and a leg? Thanks.
Does anyone know any graffiti artist in Duluth that would want to come and paint/tag a couple of set pieces for Duluth Playhouse’s production of Hair? Time line is next week. If so, contact Curtis at [email protected]
I just got the first call from someone trying to cash in on the disaster. Claimed he wasn’t trying to sell something and was just calling in light of the recent flooding in the area. (Right, that is why you are making cold calls.) “Brad’s tree and stump service” offering free estimates. I don’t see this business in the local directory and the number comes up from a cell phone and the name James Macgregor. We are on the freakin Do Not Call List, and our phone has an option that gives a message saying we do not accept calls from solicitors and you must dial one to get through if you are not selling anything. This person must have hit the one to bypass the filter. I would suggest we all be careful of unsolicited help and hire local! This is disgusting!
Does anyone know the situation regarding drinking tap water in Duluth/Superior are the flooding? Have there been any advisories regarding contamination?
Were any of you there tonight from 5:30-7:30? I had a feeling some PDD people were there…but don’t know what you look like…!
Now can we talk about greening up some of these vast swaths of concrete? Let the rainwater seep into the ground instead of running down the streets, pooling in the parking lots?
The DTA (Duluth Transit Authority) has an ask of the community to help restore a vintage 1939 Twin Coach. This 1939 Twin Coach was donated to the DTA on December 5, 2001 by former Duluth School Superintendent, Mark Myles. The Twin Coach sat idle for many years in the woods before the DTA project assumed ownership and began the restoration project. When completed, the Twin Coach will be show-cased in local parades and events. Do you have time to help restore this 1939 Twin Coach? See Jim Brown at work during weekday mornings. Efforts are currently being made to organize volunteers for the coming year. Any donations helpful: tires, time, etc.
My wife had her first orthodontal consult, which began with “we’ll remove these three healthy teeth…”
It made me think I could use some PDD hive mind recommendations and maybe some first person accounts. Help?
On almost every point, Superior suffers by comparison. Duluth has 90,000 inhabitants; Superior has 30,000. Duluth has some of the most impressive nineteenth-century architecture in the Midwest; Superior is famous for asphalt shingles and insulbrick. Duluth is known for first-rate medical facilities; Superior has an oil refinery. Duluth has Spirit Mountain and a ski jump; Superior is flat as a turkey platter. Superior is clearly inferior to Duluth, but if you like an underdog, you have to love that town across the harbor. I sure do.

I’m looking for preferably an English/antique motorcycle enthusiast who might be able to help me weld a couple of small front engine mounts as I transfer a small engine into another frame. I can’t afford too much, prefer barter, like some home brew or something for the effort. Thanks.
