Bob’s Basement Sale is back, with a vengance

My last sale put the “suck” in success, but like my old JV football coach said: “TENACITY!!”  So, I’m giving it another whirl, and you’re all invited, again. If you were the bearer of one of the myriad excuses which kept the frothy-mouthed masses from clearing out my fabulous stash of vintage dandies (something for everyone!!)(priced to induce guilt-ridden sleep-loss!) last weekend, don’t fret, I still have just about everything left. I even have a leftover keg of pear cider. 7-11pm, 628 N. 10th Ave. E, back door. An oldie but goodie.

Conan O’Brien back on-air June 1st – Hurry!

IMHO Late Night  TV needs Conan back  ASAP.  I hope his format, when he takes over the Tonight Show June 1st, stays similar to how his Late Show was.  I remember the time when Conan or Kimmel?? did a live broadcast feed from Duluth about something, maybe some guy creating an ice sculpture or something..?? Anyone remember what it was about?  I just remember a bunch of people started showing up and the guys he was interviewing were some real characters, like missing teeth and whatnot. One guy was on some kinda weird homemade moto-trike. If any one can find the video from that post it! I can’t find it anywhere. I thought it as Conan but it may have been Kimmel.

Gotta love the rappin William Shatner remix… Hurry back Conan.

Home Movie Day….October 17th

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RAXZrOaI_w

Above is the super great trailer for last year’s HOME MOVIE DAY. On October 17th 2009 HOME MOVIE DAY will be going down here in Duluth. I am posting this call 7months early to get you folks motivated to dig into yer grandparents or parents closet to uncover those beautiful 8mm, Super 8mm or even 16mm films to bring on down and have screened at the soon-to-be-built Zinema 2 on superior st.

Outside drinkin’ at kozy bar

I live upstairs from that joint & let me tell you you have to wade through the drug dealers & prostitutes just to get in that joint!!

Tis the season

The DNT recently ran a piece relating various reader-submitted stories of April Fools’ Day pranks gone by. Now, with all due respect to those whose stories appeared, I was…  a little underwhelmed. Convincing half of scenic (and credulous) Carrboro, North Carolina (“The Paris of the Piedmont”) that a Hooters was going to take over a defunct restaurant smack in the center of town, by contrast–that was sinister brilliance (I was one of the twits who fell for it, mind you, not the architect).

Can you share any tales of memorable 1 April hijinks past without endangering your latest master plan?

“Just sayin’…” (thanks, Jim)

Live Improv Comedy

Tonight at PeasantWorks Porch above Hell’s Kitchen in Canal Park. 8pm. $5.

A full evening of improv comedy for less than the cost of a movie. And we promise we’re WAY better than that Paul Blart: Mall Cop thing. How soon into that movie do you think someone rhymes his name with “fart” – 10 minutes?

We get to those type of jokes in like two minutes flat.

Joey, I’ve never felt this way about a man before…

Okay, so it may be inappropriate and immature, but does anyone else think this picture published in today’s DNT makes it look like the Prez and the Veep are about to do some Brokeback Mountain-style smoochin’?
