Am I alone?
I’ve heard a lot of folk rag on the sitcom Roseanne. I like the show. I say “Lie” to the haters.

Just stumbled across this. Thought some folks here might be interested in this too.
So, I’m throwing a little shindig on Wisconsin Point Friday, Aug. 27. I have been hearing conflicting reports as to the current state of affairs regarding the 5-0 after dark on WI Point. Does anyone know what the setup is these days? I’ve heard they kick people out (a far cry from “you’re all of age, there’s no glass, you brought your own garbage bags – have a good night, folks!”); that they close the gates; and they have been known to tow cars. Anyone?

Maybe a month ago a hole appeared out of nowhere on the avenue in front of our house. Not a pothole mind you, more like a door leading to a banquet hall. I myself have examined it, as well as just about every curious soul in the neighborhood. I’ve even seen people throw their trash in it. At this point it’s roughly a foot in diameter, but opens up into quite a cavernous void directly below the asphalt. My wife can insert her leg up to her hip and fully extend it.
After 42 summers of swimming in “the big lake they call Gitchee Gummi” I’ve got to say that this afternoon I experienced what has got to be the warmest temperatures I can remember. I don’t know if this has been covered in the local press, as I don’t read the DNT anymore. I’m wondering if anyone has any specific data and/or similar perceptions.
Everyone on PDD seems to give great suggestions/ideas, so what are the best “little” towns to visit in either Minnesota or Wisconsin? A few friends and I are planning a road trip, but are completely okay with not hitting up the Twin Cities and Madison/Milwaukee. Love big cities, but we’ve been to them so much that we’d prefer something different. Any cool roadside attractions?
The Playhouse could use some volunteer sound engineers on the mezzanine for the Orpheum Theatre Centennial Celebration at the Historic NorShor Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 21. There will be a full system, so you need to know how to run a board and plug stuff in. Bonus if you know the acoustics of the mezzanine. Daytime 12-4PM and nighttime 8PM-2AM.
Also needed are a couple volunteer door / security volunteers. Nothing too heavy, just watching the stage door and back door and “keeping an eye on things.”

I’m wondering if anyone has a recommendation for at-home dog sitting? It would be for one spoiled, cunning, food shark of a beagle kind. Preferred dog sitter to come to his home occasionally for sort of respite at the owner’s discretion. I am the “preferred” dog sitter but my sis would like options for when I am not available.
Job description includes walking, feeding, cleaning up after (in community) and lots of love. Cooper has been kenneled in the past but that leads to anxiety for him and owner. Anyone know of a reputable person that would go to Cooper’s house and stay for short days of time?

I posted a request for recommendations for replacement of a poured concrete porch stoop the other day. Thanks for your input.
However, in talking to a couple guys who came to look at the leaky porch issue, it became clear that we probably need to look at various leaky basement issues all at once to do the fix the best way. (We did get some input on a “cheap, BandAid-type fix” too, but we don’t think it will do the trick for long.) I have one lead that looks pretty good so far but am looking for any recommendations that the PDD community might be willing to share regarding reliable contractors for basement waterproofing, associated excavating, basement/foundation wall repair, etc. Your input and wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
Does anyone know of any private foreign language lessons that are offered in the area?
