Minnesota Vikings badass Jared Allen talks about his mullet lifestyle.
Is there an adult (I use that term loosely) recreational hockey group in town? A variety of Google searches leaves me without answers.
Better yet, how about a women’s group? Ely has a successful group, Chix with Stix, and I would love love love if we had something like this in town.
If the answer is no, then who’s in to get this going?
As a former wrestler I found this article quite interesting. I remember visiting UMD and looking at the conference Champ Pennants up at the fieldhouse.
Duluth Denfeld played Duluth Central tonight in high school football for what will very likely be the last time. Denfeld won 20-6 in front of a crowd of maybe 500 at Public Schools Stadium.
Twin vs Tigers – One game tie breaker game on TBS.
So if you do not have TBS here you go:
UPDATE: New stream – http://isportslink.blogspot.com/2009/10/detroit-tigers-v-minnesota-twins.html
Here is a great speech reenactment of Herb Brooks “Miracle on Ice” speech by 4 year old Rizzo.
The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers are tied for the American League Central Division Championship. The Tigers defeated the Chicago White Sox 5-3 today, and the Twins topped the Kansas City Royals 13-4.
The tie-breaking Twins/Tigers game will be on Tuesday, 4 p.m., at the Metrodome, about 17 hours after the Viking/Packer game ends. Quite a back-to-back lineup.
“Branding the field [at the Metrodome] as Mall of America Field represents an opportunity to share our name and image with an even larger nationwide audience. It also connects two treasured Minnesota brands – Mall of America and the Minnesota Vikings – which adds value to both companies.”
–Maureen Bausch, executive vice president of making people want to puke

Those without access to ESPN or FSN, can watch the Twins vs. Tigers online. It’s the biggest game of the year for the Twins, behind the Tigers by 2 games with 5 to play.
I know. I know. We have heard so much about nothing about this that, who cares? Well this is finally news that seems pretty legit coming from WCCO.
Wonder if Cory Hollenhorst thought Favre would ever actually be a Viking when he doctored up this SI cover as a joke? According to WCCO’s Mark Rosen it seems Favre will be a Viking and the equipment manager already ordered the Purple #4.
Well I guess the good news is we will not throw a 3-yard dump off to the fullback on a 3rd-and-8 with Favre at the helm. Can you say Super Bowl?
NCAA West Regional final: UMD vs. Miami (Ohio) ‘
Update: UMD loses its bid for the NCAA Frozen Four in a close game against Miami 2 -1. They almost followed up the Friday night “Miracle at Mariucci” with another come back, but they couldn’t get the equalizer they needed to tie the game. It was a great playoff run by the Dogs and look forward to great season next year. Now we need to hope the BSU Beavers, yes the Bemidji State Beavers, pull off another upset tomorrow night against Cornell to get into the Frozen Four. BSU upset #1 seed Notre Dame 5 -1 tonight in a great game. It was the first NCAA Division I Tournament win in Bemidji State men’s hockey history. Learn more here
