Three Local Art & Gift Fairs

Each of these fairs has different local artists — only a few overlap.

On Saturday, Dec. 4, the Get it Local Gift Fair will be held at Peace Church, 1111 N. 11th Ave. E., and will have over 30 Duluth-Superior artists, nonprofits, and local-made or grown items for sale. The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will also serve as a drive (please bring items) for new or gently used children’s (picture) books which will be donated to the Red Book Shelf/United Way and there also will be a collection for Hygiene products to go to the local Salvation Army. From wreaths to jewelry to home decor to dog treats you will find plenty of great things to pick up — all in one setting in one day.

Get to the Point Awesome Art & Gift Fair – Saturday, Oct. 9

This Saturday is the 3rd annual Get to the Point Awesome Art & Gift Fair – all with local artists within about 30 miles of Duluth. Very cool items. Books, jewelry, candles, soap, and much more.
Lafayette Bldg, 3026 Minnesota Ave., 2 miles past the Lift Bridge.
10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday. 17 artists. Start your holiday shopping early. Pick out some things for yourself. Meet the people making the creative items.

Annual Duluth Public Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Duluth Public Library invite you to the Annual Used Book Sale. The dates this year are August 18 and 19 from 10 until 5:30 p.m. and the Bag Sale on Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There is early admission for Friends members on August 17 from 10 until 5:30 p.m. People can join Friends at the sale. Shop for bargain books, CDs, DVDs, books on tape. A silent auction will be held with older and rarer books. All proceeds from this fundraiser go toward Duluth Public Library book and media purchases and toward programs held at the library.

Are you a Member of the Friends of the Duluth Public Library? It’s only $10 per year and let’s you get into the sale on Tuesday, Aug 17 – 10 to 5:30. You may join the Friends of the DPL on-site.

Love Lake Superior Artisan and Info Fair – Sunday, July 18

Over 25 local artists and info booths celebrating Lake Superior Day -3rd Sunday in July. Come shop. Come learn about the Lake. Come share your love of the lake via Open Mic- poetry, music, etc. Visit Tonya Borgeson’s WaterWorks exhibit at this event, too.

All-Water Film Weekend at the Zinema – July 16-18

Cinematic All-Water Weekend.
The films are free and open to the public.

MN Sea Grant

May 1 – Dulcimer Day in Duluth

Master dulcimer performer/instructors will be in Duluth Saturday, May 1. Concerts at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Instrument vendors and local crafters 10 to 4 p.m. 20 classes held starting at 9 a.m. with assorted traditional folk instruments: dulcimers, autoharp, banjo, and bowed psaltry. Workshops to dye a scarf and make a whistle. Lunch will be for sale by Community Action Duluth to raise funds for their Circles of Support group. Class schedule at www.DulcimersInDuluth.com. This is the 9th year for this fair.

May 1 Book Fair at Barnes and Noble, Fundraiser for Duluth Public Library

Saturday, May 1, Barnes and Noble Duluth hosts a Bookfair to benefit Friends of the Duluth Public Library. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Library. Vouchers are available online at

Treasures of the Earth Green Goods, Craft and Art Fair

Head to the Unitarian Church, 835 W. College St, this Saturday (3/27) between 10 and 3 p.m. to visit a unique marketplace of items made locally made of recycled materials or natural (mostly local) material. Over 25 local and regional artists will have all kinds of neat things – jewelry, felted items, baskets (pine needle and birch), painted rocks, rag rugs, jewelry, glass items, and much more. Honey and tea will also be available. The Peace Puppets will greet people and share enviro tips between 11 and 1 p.m. The church will also have a Used Book and Movie Sale during this fair.

Treasures of the Earth Green Art Fair – March 27

Early notice about a neat marketplace that will be setup with over 25 local artists selling their creations made out of natural materials or recycled materials. Also, Peace Puppets will share enviro tips and tunes.

The event will be held at the Unitarian Church, 835 W. College St. on the last Saturday of March, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The fair is coordinated by wendyupnorth.com. Check the website for other fairs including Dulcimer Day in Duluth folk music festival May 1 – the Spirit of Music, and Woman-Made: Marvelous Things made by Northland Women – July 24 at the College of St. Scholastica.
