Artificial – feature film shot in Duluth now free to watch

In honor of the holiday we’ve released our second feature film for free on YouTube.

Synopsis: A neurotic visionary recruits a young photographer to create a program with the ability to recognize beauty. Artificial is a psychedelic character study that blurs the line between experimental and narrative filmmaking.

Thanks to the community and everyone involved for being part of this undertaking! Enjoy!

Artificial trailer and Indiegogo campaign

My name is Lance Karasti and my team and I are working on a new project that will be filmed in Duluth over the next year. Artificial is about a young photographer who meets a mysterious visionary with plans to create a sentient program. We’ve already shot the prologue of the movie which features the photographer traveling around town and capturing some of the Duluth’s most iconic scenes.

For $10 you can get a copy of the film and your name in the end credits. Please consider supporting local filmmaking by donating and sharing the link. Thank you for your past and current support.

Cult screening at Zinema 2 on June 17

If you are into dark and depressing movies (that take place in Duluth) then come check it out! Screenings are at 7 and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, at Zinema 2. I’ll be doing a Q&A after both shows. It recently played to full houses at the Duluth Superior Film Festival and people seemed to dig it. It is unrated, but the MPAA would easily slap an R on it, so keep that in mind. It is very dark.
