The obvious answer is that Brian Olson is a very talented local artist.  I worked on a house with him a couple years ago.  I slopped the paint on the walls and he did all the fancy stuff.  It's really amazing what he can do.  He also did the murals at Black Water Lounge and the mural on the side of the gas station/Sammys Pizza on Arlington and Central Entrance.  I'm sure some others on here know about other things he's done.

It's two blocks off Tower Avenue from where the Palace Theater was.

The work is pop art at best, 3d art can be cool but this artist failed to capture the beauty of the palace theatre in his hey days..I would give it a C- at best....but then again I have a thing against pop artist...

It's refreshing to see a nice picture in such a blighted area , so glad that gay artist can express themselves freely in Douglas County, this artist is a credit to all gay artist in  the area....

Recently found out that my cousin paid to have our grandma and his son incorporated into the mural, they're on the lower right.

The mural was paid for 100% by private donors. A small group from the Historical Society on their own time solicited people who had an interest in commemorating the old Palace Theatre. No tax money was used for the project. Let's do some homework before we go on our next rant. You might have gotten a clue from Berv's comment about how his cousin PAID to have his relatives on the painting.
