Peanuts for business that wants to be green

Rogue Robot receives weekly shipments of games that come well-padded in styrofoam peanuts. The owner, Ryan, wants to know if there’s an environmentally friendly way to dispose of them: another business in downtown Duluth that wants them for their shipping purposes? Some other repurposing? Some safe disposal?

Rogue Robot is taking green seriously, going so far as to suggest I unwrap purchases in the store so the owner can bulk recycle the packaging.

Any suggestions for him?

I think shipping stores (FedEx, UPS) will take them.

Pack & Mail Plus at 4602 Grand Avenue will take packing peanuts.

Bring them to Alakef. I might even give you some coffee. It's a win-win.

Oh wait ... Styrofoam? If they're clean green corn-starch-based ones, I'll take them off your hands.

I work for FedEx express up by the airport and we will take and reuse peanuts. I also know that Andy at Going Postal in Superior will do the same.

The UPS stores, one on Central Entrance and the other in the Kenwood shopping center, take them for free. They reuse them to ship items.

Many Duluth-Superior Freecycler's will take them too - that's where I get rid of mine, plus they come pick them up!
