Onion A.V. Club in Hibbing

The Onion A.V. Club’s Sean O’Neal traveled to Hibbing for a video that soaks up the Bob Dylan experience for the series Pop Pilgrims. There’s a nice look inside the Hibbing High School Auditorium — Minnesota’s second-nicest high-school auditorium.

That's too bad about the Onion/A.V. Club. I look forward to picking up a copy whenever I'm in the cities.

The Electric Fetus in Duluth carries the City Pages and used to carry the Onion. New issues available on Thursdays.

The Onion used to be a pretty quality rag. When Village Voice bought them out, they changed a lot of what made the rag enjoyable. I miss B Smoove, Jean Teasdale and Herbert Kornfeld and the "You Da Man" point and counterpoint editorials and passersby were astonished by the unusually large amount of blood passersby were astonished by the unusually large amount of blood

The Onion is not owned by Village Voice Media and never has been.

City Pages is owned by Village Voice Media.

Hmm...seems you're right. The Onion did get assimilated by a larger company a few years ago, did it not? Or was the format change a result of a larger circulation?

Speaking of City Pages, Village Voice is experiencing the same kind of problems with its back page that it has been having in Seattle.
