Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse has been wowing audiences since it opened last week. I've gone to four performances myself (being the stage mother I am) and have loved seeing some of our finest young actors act their hearts out -- and then, of course, there's Adeline Wright's understated but brilliant performance as Grammie. This play will make you laugh, it'll make you cry, it'll give you some pointers about the importance of wearing bicycle helmets. Most of all, it'll renew your faith in the power of a young person's imagination to make the world a more colorful, vibrant place than it already is.
Duluth Playhouse, Friday evening 7 pm, Saturday 2 and 4 pm, and final performances Sunday 2 pm. Tickets $9 adults, $7 children.
