Postcard from Duluth’s Carnegie Library in 1914
This postcard was mailed Dec. 2, 1914 — 110 years ago today. It shows Duluth’s Carnegie Library at 101 W. Second St. Constructed in 1902, it was Duluth’s main library until 1980. The building has since served as an office building.
The card was sent to Mrs. J. H. Sweeney of Buell, Oregon. The message on the back reads:
Duluth MN. Wednesday and we are getting pretty close to home. The weather here is beautiful. I an so tired and quite sick. Had a very pleasant trip so far. How is all the Buell folks? I will write you a long letter when I get home. — Mrs. [?}
