Climbing PoeTree is coming to Duluth MN y’all!

These amazing womyn will be performing for free to everyone who would like to come. Invite your friends.

Spoken word, music, amazing. (The perfect thing to do before Atmosphere later in the day.)

Climbing PoeTree is a duo made up of Alixa Garcia and Naima Penniman. Their mantra is “ART is our WEAPON, our MEDICINE, our VOICE, our VISION.”

Alixa and Naima are poets, performers, print-makers, dancers, muralists, and designers, who since July of 2003, through Climbing PoeTree, have designed performances and workshops shown and facilitated throughout the nation to promote radical social change. Their most recent creation is the multi-media performance “Hurricane Season: the hidden messages in water,” which draws on Hurricane Katrina to draw vital connections to shared struggles and common solutions in a critical moment in national and global history.
