Postcards from the College of St. Scholastica

Featured here is a pair of old College of St. Scholastica postcards.

In the past we’ve featured two other Scholastica postcards, one mailed in 1931 and one mailed in 1948. The post for the 1948 card includes a succinct history of the school.

The second postcard featured here is an aerial view from the 1970s by Gallagher’s Studio of Photography. The text on the back of the card reads:

The College of St. Scholastica
Duluth, Minnesota

Preparing young men and women for life and careers in the “Seventies” in Education, the Health Sciences, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and the Humanities. Located at the head of Lake Superior where the famous North Shore and the legendary Voyageur canoe country begin.

I'm not buying the idea that this postcard -- originally included in the post above -- is Duluth's College of St. Scholastica. It may have been a common name used elsewhere. The buildings are different.

Yep, I'm pretty sure the retracted postcard is from St. Scholastica’s College in the Philippines.
