WE Clinic Pro-Abortion Apparel

WE Clinic is an independently owned reproductive and sexual health care clinic in Duluth. Just in time for the holidays, the clinic has dropped its own line of apparel, including a tie-dye bucket hat with the simple saying, “Have a Nice Abortion.” That logo can also be added to baseball hats. The shop has other designs that can be added to shirts, hats, mugs and even sweatpants. All proceeds from the online storefront at bonfire.com support the clinic.


Vintage Silverware Jewelry

Toni Samskar takes those old forks, spoons and knives you’d see in a grab bag at Savers and turns them into wearable art pieces. Samskar makes rings, necklaces and other cutlery-inspired trinkets. Her pieces can be found at Vintage Hideaway in Hermantown.



Topside Drink Mixes

Established in 2018, Topside is made right in Duluth and sold all over the Twin Ports. The company is known for its own bloody Mary mix that can be used for, of course, bloody Marys, Caesars and even bloody beers. If cold alcoholic tomato soup isn’t your style, the company’s newest product is Island Sunset, a fruity cocktail mix. Even in a Minnesota winter, the Island Sunset (mixed with the right booze) will bring you to a warm beach. Topside also makes its own blueberry margarita and piña colada mix. We all know someone who likes trains or history. Don’t forget to add your pets to the shopping list. Hounds of Hell Boutique makes all sorts of pet accessories, including cozy pet beds. The beds come in both pup and cat varieties and can be ordered in small, medium and large sizes. Kimberly Christine runs the boutique and is a trained animal massage therapist. Superior Yarn Creations Capybara

Mother-daughter duo Rhonda and Sophitia Monarque are the brains behind Superior Yarn Creations. These two ladies create lil’ guys, ranging from small to large, through the art of crocheting. Their plushies can be ordered online at superioryarncreations.com, but Rhonda and Sophitia are also always on the move. Superior Yarn Creations can be found participating in plenty of local craft and vendor fairs all over the Twin Ports.


Note Card Packs from Emlynn Draws Birds

Despite the shop name, Emlynn Mock draws more than just birds. Mock is a 20-year-old, self-taught artist who finds her inspiration from nature and all the creatures that inhabit it. Her Etsy shop sells wintery bird note card packs that come with four per pack. These artful cards are perfect for sending warm wishes and giving the recipient a piece of art. She also has a pixel store that features more designs and offers a larger array of products such as pieces of wall art, pillows and phone cases. Mock has a strong presence on YouTube and Instagram. AfroGeode & the Gemstones

This self-titled record is dedicated to AfroGeode & the Gemstone’s late bandmate, Diona Johnson. The record was released on Jun. 28, a little under a year after Johnsons’ unexpected passing. It captures the classic sounds the band had perfected over the years — mixing pieces of soul, hip hop and electronic into something original. AfroGeode & the Gemstones is available on Bandcamp for digital download ($10). It can also be purchased on vinyl ($25), compact disc ($11) and cassette ($12). House of Donuts Crewneck Shirt

Misgen Design Company is taking this holiday season on a blast from the past with items that harken back to Duluth’s good ol’ days. The designs feature old bar and restaurant logos like House of Donuts. Alongside the vintage collection, there are plenty of other Duluth-inspired designs from owner Wayne Misgen, the Misgen of Misgen Design. He started doodling at a young age and has been a professional designer for more than a decade.


Kenwood Farms Freeze-Dried Skittles

Kenwood Farms is a one-stop shop offering canned goods, apparel, wall art, miscellaneous tchotchkes and even hunting safety classes. But its hot commodity is different freeze-dried snacks. Freeze drying adds an extra crunch to food without taking away its nutritional value. In-house, Kenwood Farms sells freeze-dried candy that ranges in price from $5 to $8. North Shore Adventure Park Gift Cards

Give the gift of experience. Adventure Park in Silver Bay offers multiple family friendly activities but is known for its climbing and zipline adventures. Adult tickets are $69 and children’s tickets are $65. The tickets include access to the park’s six aerial obstacle courses and 10 ziplines for 2.5 hours. Other activities offered at the park include ax-throwing and a Lil’ Rascal Playground for the younger kids. Gift cards are sent via email, making it easy to send to the recipient.
