The Library of Congress dates this photo from Detroit Publishing Company as circa 1904.

The photo was used by the company on a postcard bearing the copyright year 1904.

We were in Duluth this past Friday (7-24-20) and went swimming at the Shallows (as we used to refer to them) on the east branch of Lester River. I had this postcard image in mind when I shot the attached photo but it goes well with another swimming hole postcard from around the same time and place as your posted one.
