Rolph, Wilson named head brewers at Earth Rider
Earth Rider Brewery in Superior has named Allyson Rolph and Tim Wilson as lead brewers. The craft brewery, founded by Tim Nelson, is expected to launch later this year. It will service bars, restaurants and liquor stores throughout the Arrowhead region. The project was announced in February.
The brewery will reside on the north end of Tower Avenue at 1617 N. Third St. in the former Leamon Mercantile building.
Rolph has been head brewer at Thirsty Pagan Brewing since 2012. She completed pro-brewer courses with the Siebel Institute of Technology, UW-Stevens Point and Hop Union. During her time at Thirsty Pagan, she earned a reputation as a creative brewer, including the launch of what is now a renowned sour-beer and barrel-aging program.
Wilson got his start in brewing at Fitger’s Brewhouse in 2012. He has been at Bent Paddle Brewing since 2014 as lead cellerman. He is a process specialist particularly adept at training and establishing procedures.
Bev-Craft Director of Brewing Frank Kaszuba will oversee Earth Rider’s brewing production. Kaszuba has 21 years of brewing experience and is a Great American Beer Festival medalist. Bev-Craft is a brewery consulting group that supports a network of breweries with business, brewing, branding and sales expertise.
“I think we have assembled a dream-team of brewers,” Kaszuba said in a news release. “The balance of Allyson’s and Tim’s hot- and cold-side skillsets will make Earth Rider’s beers consistent and of the highest quality.”
