Good place in Duluth to catch World Cup?

Does anyone know of a bar that will definitely be showing World Cup soccer matches?

Dubh Linn Irish Pub sometimes puts up the big screen for matches.

I believe the place to go for World Cup viewing will be Clyde Ironworks. They will be displaying games on their TVs in the bar and I think may also be showing some games on the big screen in the large back room.

Dubh Linn Irish Pub is the place to go. It's not even really a contest. They lower a big screen, have numerous televisions in the bar and restaurant area and will be a very World Cup friendly establishment when the games kick off.

Thanks -- it sounds like the real World Cup match is between Clyde and Dubh Linn!

Dubh Linn's in the most popular place to watch soccer in Duluth. For the Champions League Final this year, the place was full of soccer fans. I expect the World Cup to be even more popular. They will have three big projector screens showing all the games. So no matter where you sit, you can watch the game on a big screen. When you wear your team jersey you will receive special deals and they are having a bracket challenge.

MPR mentions Dubh Linn in its "10 places in Minnesota to watch the World Cup."

9. Dubh Linn Irish Brewpub Where: 109 W. Superior Street, Duluth If you wear your team's jersey to the Dubh Linn to watch World Cup games, you'll receive a 10% discount on your drinks. The brewpub made a special World Cup IPA to root on Team USA, and will also be serving Caipirinha, a Brazilian cocktail made with a local brandy made from cane sugar and limes. H/T PIN member Michael Bergum for the suggestion.
(I have no idea what "H/T PIN" is, but there is a Michael Bergum who is a Stillwater mortgage broker who pleaded guilty in 2008 to two counts of felony fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of furnishing alcohol to minors after assaulting friends of his teenage daughter at underage drinking parties, according to the Star Tribune. Anyway, what I'm saying is, no matter who Michael Bergum is, that last sentence confounds me. What is a PIN member and what does it mean to H/T him?)

Thanks Hayburn. Now I can go from wondering what that acronym means to wondering why the writer of that story thought people would understand it.

The Michael Bergum referred to in the article by MPR is a Duluth resident and is a manager at Dubh Linn's pub. He likely responded to a request for info from the MPR Public Insight Network (PIN) like I did.

In addition to Clyde Iron Works and Dubh Linn, Rex Bar at Fitger's is giving special attention to the World Cup. On Sunday the Rex will open two hours early, at 4 p.m., for the U.S. World Cup match against Portugal, with happy hour from 4 to 8 p.m.
