It’s been 25 years since Denfeld played in the 1989 Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament. Through the miracle of shaky old VHS tapes, we take a look back. Above is the gloriously cheesy video profiling the school, produced for between-period entertainment.

Denfeld defeated White Bear Lake 4-1 in the first round of the state tournament. We begin the video showcase with the team introduction.

The Hunters lost a 2-1 heartbreaker to Rochester John Marshall in the semifinal game. Below are the highlights of that heartbreaker.

Denfeld closed out the season with a win over International Falls in the third place game. Lots of scoring in this one.

Here's a clip from the third-place game against International Falls, highlighting back-to-back goals by a great old friend, Tony Burns, who died unexpectedly on Jan. 8.
