What’s being built kitty-corner from At Sara’s Table, across the street from V.I.P.?

Anyone know?

Carla BLumberg and Barbara Neubert -- the owners of At Sara's Table / Chester Creek Café -- own that land and are planning a three-story building with retail spaces on the ground floor along Eighth Street and apartments on the top two floors.

Yup, plus some gardens to supply the restaurant.

And ninjas.

I hear they are to have ninjas there. Not sure why, but I think it has something to do with Homeland Security.

I wouldn't suggest planting ninjas - they're iffy in zone 4. They might make it through a winter or two but the first really cold one they're done for.

From the paperwork/plans/scan I have as a "neighbor" from the planning meeting, it's all that, and then some. Also, they've started their daily work most days at just after 7 a.m. (as early as 7:05 a.m.) hammering n bashing things around - it's loud and way too f'ing early. Grrrrrrrr. *eyedarts @ Sara's Table*

Anyone know the construction (noise) start-time law/ordinance for Dull-uth?

I think it's 7. This is not a right-to-sleep state. I think you have to move to California for that. Or maybe Oregon.

When did the architecture office get torn down? I liked their funky corrugated pillars.

Fitz, I think ninjas are also considered an invasive species.

I didn't expect noon or anything, but thought more like 8 a.m. was the time for some reason, or at least 7:30 a.m.

That other building was torn down several years ago and was left as a mess there -- including some of the basement/foundation walls and even some of the other debris, and it all collected there with garbage (trash, pop cans and bottles, cig boxes/butts, etc.) from bus stop users and other slobs. The lot wasn't properly cleaned, nor mowed/cared for and became a weedy garbage patch. Before it was purchased I was ready to nominate it for a community garden so that it'd at least be put to some good use and look better. Now it will.

I'm glad someone asked this question as I was wondering the same thing!

I remember that they said they planned on selling some grocery items like it's original namesake in the news somewhere, is that still planned, perhaps with this new building, or did they change their minds?

I understand that it will be called At Sara's Taran's Market-table Chester Creek Apartment-Gardens and a Few Grocery Items Cafe.

@vicarious: that's gonna be one really big sign.
