Christmas City of the North Parade Stream

Hi folks. Especially the folks who are far away Duluthians, this could be good news for you.

I just got word in this nice little video from Kevin Jacobsen and LeAnn Wallace that the Christmas City of the North Parade will be streaming live at the Northland’s Newscenter website.

The twitter hashtag is #christmascityparade

Yay! A Christmas parade prior to Thanksgiving when there's no snow! (sulks back into dimly lit and dusty Victorian rowhouse to smoke his Scrooge pipe).

Thanks for the tip! Watching it in Chicago right now and wishing I was there.

I didn't watch via live stream- instead used the TV. For the 2nd year in a row they cut to commercial when the Denfeld Marching Band was about to go on. So I have two questions- 1) Were there commercials on the live stream? And 2) What the fuck? ! Denfeld actually has a pretty good band- why the dis against the hometown kids 2 years in a row?

Tim, thanks for tuning in. But understand we're not trying to 'dis' anyone here. Sometimes the timing of the actual parade (the movement of the floats, etc.) and the timing of our coverage don't go as planned. We do our best, but I know we can't make everyone happy. The fact it happened two years in a row is merely an unfortunate coincidence.

KJ, did you still record the Denfeld performance? Could you put up the tape of it online for people to see? Maybe even post a link here?

I was at the parade and I think that the East High School band got a huge boost from the whole red plan thing. I'm guessing the same happened for Denfeld. I am generally not a red plan cheerleader, but that was good to see. Evidence of robust arts and cultural programs, I mean. But maybe it is just a veneer and arts are still getting shafted by testing and budget cuts.

JP, as far as I know... no. Everything we showed on air is what we had in-house.
