Here’s a sampling of what you have to look forward to this week on the PDD Calendar.

Duluthians are stepping forward to rebuild our community after the flood. Volunteers are needed at Chester Bowl tonight. Do you know of other organized clean up activities? Let us know.

Coyote releases their new album on Thursday at the Teatro Zuccone and, before he permanently skips town, you can see Marc Gartman play solo at Fitger’s Brewhouse on Wednesday.

Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret & Burlesque Show, founded by Duluth native Amy Buchanan, plays at the Teatro Zuccone on Friday and Saturday.

There will be cake. Friday marks 9 years of this little local idiosyncratic blog. Happy birthday, Perfect Duluth Day! See the people behind the avatars and raise a glass or two at Tycoons.

The Zinema has some great films going by Richard Linklater (a great independent director) and Wes Anderson (ditto).  We saw Bernie on Saturday and Moonrise Kingdom opens this weekend.  Also a ballet documentary opens this weekend--it's gotten great reviews.

There have been some updates to the Chester Bowl cleanup. Check the Chester Bowl website for the most current news. Biggest update - no chainsaws, the city does not want people using chainsaws there tonight. If bringing kids, make sure they're an appropriate age to actually help out, by picking stuff up, raking, following directions etc. And you're responsible for your own kids safety.

Marc Gartman & Russ Sackett play a tribute to Ween on Wednesday, not Tuesday as I incorrectly listed in the Transistor.
