“Art for our Wild Woods”
Kate and I attended the benefit for Wildwoods Rehabilitation: “Art for our Wild Woods,” organized by Caroline Sneve Routley, April 22, 2012. Kate volunteers for Wildwoods, and I get suckered in once and a while.
Wildwoods is a 501c3 nonprofit in Duluth, MN. Wildlife rehabilitators and volunteers work to help orphaned and injured animals return to their natural lives, and to be a resource for people who find these animals.
Wildwoods‘ art soiree at the Blue Lake Gallery in Canal Park on Earth Day, April 22, lasted from 3-7pm. Blue Lake will donate 20% of sales during this event to the Wildwoods Facility Fundraiser.
Fox21 Account of the event is here.
I caught the last of the snacks from Amazing Grace, and meet the celebrity wildlife guests — Archimedes the Eastern Screech Owl (with author Laura Erickson), Thistle the Porcupine (with Erin Manning from Wolf Ridge ELC), and a Harris Hawk (with local falconer Jackie Fallon). The Harris Hawk was particularly photogenic.
Thistle also put in time at the event; these photographs were taken by other supporters.
Thistle the porcupine is tuckered out after an afternoon fundraising for Wildwoods. Thanks Thistle!
