My best guess is Lester River area.

Wrong direction, heysme, and it's a bit outside of Duluth.

I'm going to take a wild stab and say it's on Highway 210 -- Oldenberg Parkway.

Close, Meghann, and you're right that it's right next to a lake. You've gone slightly too far north. This is just outside the city limits.

Weird, there is a sign posted just at the end of Schultz Lake Rd on your left. To your right is a trail that leads out to the lake.

I was wrong. It's Miller Road that I'm thinking of!!!

Yep, Meghann's got it. End of Miller Road, next to the trail out to Rice Lake Reservoir.

Seemed like an apt sign for this dismal winter.
