This Week: Bellydancers, singers, nerds, rosemalers and movies in a barn

Since the PDD Calendar editor has come down with a nasty case of computer virus, allow me to take a shot at highlighting a few hot events this week.

Tuesday, Sept. 27
Teatro Zuccone will host an acoustic show in the truest sense — no mics, no amps. The bands are all local and all yocal — Yester, Old Knifey, Southwire and Sarah Krueger.

Wednesday, Sept. 28
Local and internationally known belly dancers take the stage at the Marshall School’s Fregeau Auditorium for Club Bellydance. For those afraid of exposed flesh, Wednesday is also Nerd Nite Eleventy.

Thursday, Sept. 29
Local acts Hattie Peterson, Sarah Krueger, Greg Tiburzi, Jessica Myshack, Steve Isakson and the Temporary Service are on the bill at Sacred Heart Music Center for the Hang Up and Drive Tour.

Friday, Sept. 30
The Free Range film barn in Wrenshall screens the Manhattan Short Film Festival. Also, Beaner’s Central hosts a Hip-hop Show featuring Good Knight. (You remember the “Duluth Minnesnowta Song” post, right?

Saturday, Oct. 1
There’s plenty to choose from on Saturday, including the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra’s “Dazzling Endings,” the Twin Ports Rosemaling Society’s Scandinavian Festival, Polka Night at the All-American Club, and the North Shore Iron Pour.

And don’t forget the Trampled by Turtles and Charlie Parr show at Clyde Iron Works is coming up next week.

What do you mean... the computer someone uses to access the Calendar editor has a virus, the person who edits the calendar has a computer virus themselves which jumped the biological-digital divide, the server that hosts the Calendar editor has a virus, or the Calendar editor is simply not functioning?
