The new mural at the Depot! The Dough Boy appears alongside a bus full of fish, a Frisbee-catching dog and former Rep. Jim Oberstar, among other sights.

Ding! We have a winner! Good eye, Bev. I expect you, like me, have spent a lot of time in that rotunda.

Mural looks great from what I could see on the website; I like Scott's work.

But I personally am disappointed that the mural includes an image of the Duluth Radisson, arguably one of the ugliest buildings in Duluth, representing all the ugly buildings--Ordean Building, Library, Gateway Tower, Lennox Tower, former KDLH Studios, DNT Building--that replaced many beautiful buildings (and, yes, some ugly ones) demolished during Duluth's "Gateway Renewal" project of the 1960s/early 1970s. Does anyone know why a mural depicting Duluth would include an image of the Pillsbury Dough Boy in the mural?

I can tell you where it was painted! I saw this mural unfinished many times in the workspace of the Duluth Art Institute in Lincoln Park. Now I've got to get down to the depot to see the finished thing.

Is he the same artist who did the painting of Rodney Dangerfield sitting at a bar with a badger? Name seems familiar, style looks the same. If so, that is all the explanation I need.
