Merging on I-35 — Please Stop the Madness

Yesterday I was cruising along the highway at 60-odd miles per hour when another car came speeding down a ramp and almost was on top of me. I thought about changing lanes but there was a car coming up in the left lane.

I watched the situation develop, waiting to see if Captain Clueless on the ramp was going to slow down — or speed up enough to “beat” me — but there was no adjustment. With a car length or two between us I hit the breaks and the horn hoping to avert catastrophe. No one hurt, thank God. But I’m tired of people merging into traffic expecting me to change lanes to suit them.

Duluth Tire Shops

Anybody have suggestions on where to go to find inexpensive and reliable tires? I know of all of the ‘regular’ spots, but I thought you all may have some other good suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Vote for Loup-Garou!

Loup-Garou is in Are You Local? hosted by the star tribune and vita.mn. We’re one of very few bands outside of the metro area in the contest. It would mean a ton to us if you could take a few minutes out of your day and vote for us and show some of that Duluth support! You’ll also get a chance to hear the first track from our I Am Blind EP, coming out at Beaner’s on the 26th of February (playing with The People Say Fox and MPLS’s Party House)

All you have to do is go here and register (they ask for only your email) and rate our song a 10! Be sure to check out the other bands on the roster as well, a ton of great artists and groups that i’m sure are familiar names.

The top 3 bands get featured in Vita.MN magazine and play a showcase at the Varsity Theater on March 4th. One group advances from that showcase down to Texas for SXSW.

Super easy scam opportunity!!

Duluth Superior Pride Logo Contest! $300

Duluth Superior Pride is looking for an artist type to design our logo! We have two theme ideas for you to base your work on. 1. Some version of “These colors don’t run” or “After 25 years, These colors still don’t run” that incorporated the queer rainbow. 2. Silver going for the Gold. ( A play on 25 being the silver anniversary since its our 25th anniversary of the Pride Festival in the Twin Ports.)

Who was that guy?

I’m trying to find footage of Equal Xchange from last year’s Homegrown.  It was at the Rex Bar and some dude with dreads was walking around with a shoulder-mounted camcorder.  Does anyone know who this person is?  I was playing bass and would like it for my archives.
