I was up and ready at my computer Monday morning when tickets went on sale for Sir Elton’s upcoming Duluth performance on May 6. Unfortunately, after much ‘refreshing’ and ‘searching’ I did not secure tickets for my wife and I. Looks like tickets are readily available for a much larger price on Stubhub; not sure if I’m willing to drop that much cash though.
Anyone else have a similar experience, or were you able to land tickets?
I am a journalism student at UMD, working on a story that involves Morley Heights, a neighborhood in East Duluth. I am curious to learn more about this neighborhood that was once constructed in Barksdale, Wis. Many of the homes were then moved to Duluth for employees working at the Marshall-Wells Company. It has been said that some of these homes were probably purchased from the DuPont Company at Barksdale and then each were floated across the lake to be re-constructed in Morley Heights. If someone has more information on this housing project or a connection with a potential source for my story, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey sports fans — the UMD Women’s Hockey program wraps up its regular season this weekend at the Amsoil arena. Tickets are $1 in advance! $3 at the door!
For anybody that wants to comment like a caveman and say that women’s hockey is boring, you should know that this team has won 5 national championships in 10 years. These women are some of the best players in the world and many are Olympians. The program boasts every color of medal with current and past players. In a nutshell, these women would school you in a game of shinny any day. But the best part? These young women are really fabulous people. I’ve had a chance to get to know some of them over the years and it makes me a bigger fan.
So, when your oven makes a weird sound and you look inside to find a little flame coming from a hole in the coil, does that mean you should call a repairman or plan on replacing the whole unit?
Anyone qualified to help me mentally prepare for how big of a hit the ol’ credit card is going to take when Daugherty’s opens on Monday, chime in .
When I heard there would be boxing at Clyde Iron, I knew my dad would love to go. He enjoys watching boxing on TV and has never been to a live fight. Tickets were being sold for $20 each for General admission and $40 for what I guess was reserved, although they did not mention what or where those seats would be, in fact the woman I spoke to had no idea how the seating would be arranged.
Stopped down at the Canal Park Adventure Zone today with Mrs. Goose and the Goslings. Had to be dragged there is a little more like it. My wife got some free passes to the Laser Tag so I couldn’t very well say “no,” could I? So we went.
