I kind of feel like if you're falling asleep to Low, then you're not really paying attention. But that's just me...enjoy what they put out in whatever way you like.

Thanks for the update on that ... what does it have to do with anything? I mean, sure sure Alan and Mim are Mormons ... so that link means they're anti-gay? Seriously! Faith bashing makes me fall asleep.
Congrats to some hard working, cool people. Can't wait to hear some.
Seriously, do they proselytize with their music? Tonight the monkeys die. Yep, that's Mormonism in a nutshell.
Religion and politics ruin many beautiful friendships and get in the way of too many good things -- like music.

The first Low concert I ever heard -- the first Low I ever heard -- was as a student, living in St. Paul, attending the Day of Music event in Orchestra Hall. I've never been so equally mesmerized and engaged in a concert as I felt at that concert.
I've seen Low a lot since then -- in Madison, WI, more shows in Mpls while I lived there. I moved, and I saw you in the NorShor, in the Weber Music Hall here in Duluth, and I loved every show. Maybe others are more devoted, but I've been passionate to see a favorite band. But Drums and Guns just wasn't for me.
It was something like the feeling I got when "Wire" briefly started recording as "Wir" -- I still felt a connection, but I knew that from that point forward, our time together would be different.
Much as I may not understand or agree with his religion, it's not too evident in his tunes, or my life. This is the USA after all. If the guy wants to handle snakes, more power to him. Guess I have to appreciate his transparency, and fuck-all attitude foremost, which there is a serious shortage of anyway, and hand it to him for making a go of it in a tough arena. But its only rock and roll.
I had a conversation with Ms. Bonar once. She said Low was her favorite band, I said mine was Procol Harum. That was as far as we got. I'm really getting into Lawrence Welk lately, I can see what those guys were trying to do after all these years. Beauty in simplicity.
Ive found that regardless of how much I may enjoy artist A's music, the more I know about his personal life and what type of person he (or she) is, especially if I find out that he is a complete asshole, the less I appreciate his work.
The less I know the better.
Personal stuff just ruins the aesthetic.
So, I know this is super old now and probably nobody will even see this, but I wish someone had responded to my question, "C'mon, what?" by saying, "C'mon is the name of the album, stupid."
