Is this where I go to find someone who has cable so I can watch the Twins?

Excellent question. I have left a message with the proper authorities, so hopefully we'll know soon if they have cable at the church. I'm guessing probably not, though.

Yeah!

Skip the Twins, clog the arteries, and get proselytized at the same time!

And the answer is ...

No cable at the church, and the event actually ends before the 7:30 p.m. Twins/Yankees game. Since there is carryout and drive-through service, you can grab a roast beef dinner and head to somewhere that does have cable.

I live less than a block away from the Methodist Church and look forward to seeing the balloons outside twice per year for the roast beef dinner. My findings:

1) You get a very generous quantity of beef and side dishes (including a slice of pie) when you do the drive through ... in our case "walk through."

2) The family "sit down" option is fun. You line up in the church upstairs and when they have enough tables for a group, they bring you down. If you don't have enough people to fill up a whole table (6 or 8, I forget), you get to sit with some strangers ... kinda fun! They bring out platters of food and it's more of an "all you can eat" deal ... and the beef is great!

3) This is wholesome home-cooking, and well worth the $12.

4) Although you will usually meet the pastor, I've never felt pressure to join the church or attend the church or to check my agnostic ways at the door.

This is a fabulous dinner. All the food mom used to make. Michellep is right, the sit-down option is fun. You never know who you're going to meet ... probably someone who is ignoring their Dr's orders to stay away from red meat. Oh and BTW, the mashed potato's are real! Like I said -- fabulous. Totally worth forgoing the Twins game for. Arrive early though!
