Separate oil and congress? Well, aren't we naive? Look friends, oil will be reduced as a source of energy - maybe by natural gas -- but big "energy" will always have strong influence in Congress.

Come to our meeting and hear about the plan. Cynicism is easy. We have a group of experienced organizers working on this. The strategy,which you can hear about in our campaign launch, has been run by political professionals who agree that it has a good chance of being effective.

It's not cynicism, friend. It's realism. The natural gas lobby is the new oil lobby.

You need to focus on the energy industry, not just oil.

You must know more about what we're up to than we do. Thanks for the advice.

So, apparently Bob loves capitalism, but hates what capitalism has done to government, but doesn't think there's anything to be done about it. Hmmmm, sorry, just being a realist.

Bob, please get in touch with us. You can reach me at gorpladyatgmaildotcom. It won't change tonight's meeting, which I hope you will attend, but I'd like to hear more about the natural gas industry and your thoughts on that.

TimK: hope we see you there tonight.

So, how'd the meeting go?

@tamara

I recommend you research the Barnett Shale natural gas field. It's development and impact on commerce, communities and the environment will have important repercussions on our nation's economy and public policies. You should also read interviews with T. Boone Pickens and his thoughts on natural gas. I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but protesting "big oil" is so 1989. Focus on where we're going, not where we were.

@Jessi: the meeting went well. There were about 20 people who are fired up about holding Congress accountable.

@Bob: thanks.
