My cat is missing. His name is Cuthbert Burbage and if you see him please contact me, Lawrence, at ironic1@ ironic1.com. He was last seen near the corner of London Road and 52nd Avenue East around 9:15 this morning. Thanks.
Update: He’s back! My neighbor saw him and let him back into my house while I was out! Thanks for all who kept their eyes open!
Did any of you get surveyed in the past couple weeks about air quality in our area? I was wondering if anyone could confirm that this was legit. I got a weird feeling about it and when asked for personal info I declined. The survey seemed very weak on content and I was handed a very unprofessionally printed raffle ticket ($500 shopping spree or something like that) after answering a few questions.
This may not be really appropriate for PDD, but I didn’t know where else to ask. Does anyone have any information regarding this survey? The recent home break-ins mentioned in the DNT article “Duluth police: Watch neighbors’ homes,” seem well targeted and a door to door survey would be a great way to get a look inside peoples’ homes.
This is probably just paranoia (I recently had some stuff stolen from a car), but I thought it was worth asking.
My clutch pedal started binding on the way to work today (lame). I haven’t had to have any transmission/clutch work done so I’m at a loss as to where to go. PDD, recommend me a shop!
The Northern Lights Music Festival will present a rare, fully staged and costumed production of Carmina Burana this Friday, July 9, at Weber Music Hall in Duluth at 7:30 p.m. Internationally recognized Russian bass-baritone Maxim Mikhailov will be one of the featured soloists. Tickets are $10 and available at the Weber Hall box office.
Where can I buy it in Duluth? Bought some awesome frozen ones at Trader Joe’s in Mpls.
Lions&Creators and Excuse Me, Princess, two high school bands from Duluth, are touring for the first time starting July 15th at Beaner’s Central with the cool lads in Tiny Moving Parts. Starts at 7pm and admission is $5; it’ll be a really happenin’ Thursday, you should be there!
Square Dance ABC is a way to introduce square dancing to the public — no experience necessary, no special attire. Bring your friends, bring your group! Singles and couples are welcomed.
The dances will be held Saturdays, Aug. 7, 21, and 28, from 7 pm – 8:30 pm, in the Fellowship Hall of Peace United Church of Christ, 1111 N. 11th Ave. E., Duluth. Cost is $5 per person. For more info call 218-728-2270, or email harborsquares @ gmail.com.
I am working on a film festival for Pride. If anyone has any movies they are working on that they want to show, get in touch. Sordid Lives is remarkably funny if you haven’t seen it.
Thanks,
Carla
Minnesota native Andrew Turpening has lived in Cuba and studied Afro-Cuban music at the National School of Arts in Havana. He’s pulled together some equally talented friends for a little benefit for the Pastors for Peace aid caravan/blockade challenge to Cuba. Expect Cuban standards (think Buena Vista Social Club), a little classic Argentinian music, and dance…
Not to laugh at other people’s misfortune … but … maybe posting it here will help them get their stereo back?
