Is there any way for future Homegrowns to prepare easier to read schedules? They (centerpage foldout of the program/booklets) work well overall but the type is just too dang small to read.
We've experimented with four different designs for the schedule in the Field Guide in recent years. There just doesn't seem to be a way to list that many shows in a really easy-to-read way. The way it's been done the past two years is the best we've come up with so far.
Glad I'm not the only one who thinks the schedule is too damn hard to read. I like Adam's idea. . . I was actually thinking of printing out the weekend schedule in LARGE print.
Only problem with the filed guide is that Adam has to squeeze five pounds of content into a 1-pound jar. Hence the small type and tight leading/margins. Larger type = more pages = more money to print = budget buster.
How's about a downloadable PDF version of the schedule specifically designed to be printed out and folded into convenient carrying size (with larger type than the field guide, natch)?
That is a great idea, Tony D! I hope Adam and the Committee does something like that next year! BTW, so far... BEST HOMEGROWN EVER! Patrick McKinnon shook the walls of Chester Creek Cafe's wine bar last night!
As in the color registration on the printing. At first I thought Adam was sarcastically suggesting that 230 bands registered to play the festival and no one registered to design the schedule.
The DNT has a schedule in the paper today for the remaining hows, listed by night, then by venue. I think I am going to get out my yellow highlighter and mark it up. I can better read this one, it's a bigger font. Remember, I'm old. . . wonder if Frank Nichols is having the problems we're having Tony? I'd ask him but he's always dancing his ass off whenever I've seen him this week.
