Tour of Old City Hall

A wonderful video tour of Old City Hall made by Dan Hartman. Very cool. Can’t wait for it to be done!

Awesome video and it looks very cool. What are the plans for what will be going into the building? Do they have tenants lined up or are they still looking for tenants? Great job on the renovations!

Some footnotes: City Councilor Dan Hartman is working the camera (I presume). On screen is Councilor Jeff Anderson. Leading him through the building is one of its owners, Tim Nelson.

Awesome video and a great project, though I feel a bit dizzy from the video.

Will there still be a wine bar or something in the basement? What else is planned for here and Carlson's Book and Record?

Anything set to that sweet, jazzy music gets a 2nd look by me!
How about a tour of the Norshor - particularly the basement that I've heard so many stories about. Please wait until current renters are out ;)

Is there a track back to what is going on here? I haven't heard of anything going on at the old city hall. What's up?

The current renters are cool. No worries.

1:13 - What is the entryway going to be? I can't make it out.
"This is the entryway is going to be a _______. We're actually applying for the permits right now."

New restaurant going in there to sell more Brewhouse beer. The building was originally going to be a "health" center dreamed up by Rod with lots of fitness facilities (he got the sweet deal on old UMD equipment somehow), bodywork, yoga, etc.

Kind of ironic that now there is a tattoo joint (desperate for tenants?) and soon to be another bar for the dynamic duo.

I feel bummed for the new restaurants nearby and the existing watering holes as this is definitely going to take away customers from them. Brewhouse beer is definitely a fine libation but how many outlets do we need for it in a two mile radius? Kind of sux for Carmody, 310, Hacienda, Zeitgeist, and others trying to make a go of it in the same vicinity.

The tattoo place moved a month ago. It is reopening in the old Chinese Garden spot next to the Hacienda.

Carmody brews their own beer; the Hacienda has at least one special, exclusive brew from Lake Superior Brewing Co.

As for the Zeitgeist, what about Hanabi or Mexico Lindo?? Aren't they "taking away customers?" I believe it's called competition.

Do you haters leave your houses? Seriously. The amount of incorrect information about common knowledge places/events/things downtown lately has been mind boggling.

Haters? I gave props to the Brewhouse beers.

I don't live/work downtown so I missed the tattoo joint vacating the City Hall Bldg. Sorry to have been so out of touch with the downtown vibe.

Yep Carmody brews their own. Hacienda does indeed have a beer from Lake Superior....

My point was intended to be a bit more localized. Hanabi is several blocks away as is Mexico Lindo. Why didn't you lump in Five Guys and Texas Roadhouse?

Because this thread is speaking to locally owned.
