Thanks for the posting Ironic!
I'll bet that I will be referring to the post several times this summer when family comes to town.

Nice work putting the imdb links in there Mr. Ironic1. You can go right to reviews, images and whatever or not. I'll be tweeting weather and other random event details this summer, or you can go old school and call in Twin Ports Outdoor Movies themselves. Their 24-Hour Movie Hotline: 715.392.3480

I'm with Heysme, I recommend bookmarking this post and checking back often.

See you all real soon.

Love,

;) Speedy!

Doesn't 16 Candles have a brief topless scene? Maybe it's an edited version.

Remember last year. Dates are very likely subject to change due to weather and all the films that they listed may not be available. I'm still sniffing over Star Wars.

The thing I see missing are some classic films that would be real crowd pleasers like Sound of Music or Casablanca or the Wizard of Oz or the like.

I am quite excited to see Iron Man on the big screen again. It's a good big screen movie. And Men in Black is just a rolicking good time.

Umm... maybe I missed it but did they show any Pixar shows last year? 'Cause Madagascar/KF Panda is way lame compared to any Pixar offering. (except maybe cars)

We did Wizard of Oz I think it was 2 years ago. "Classic" films cost more, but they can be gotten if people are interested

a john hughes/brat pack flick with a topless scene? really? if there is one in sixteen candles, it's gotta be really really brief. i remember molly ringwald spends part of a scene talking about her lack of breasts.

Will Journey to the Center of the Earth be in 3D? Glasses available?

Yes Danny, "Journey to Center" is in 3D and glasses will be available. The program I work for, Boyz II Dadz, is sponsoring that night. Not all of the details, but it sounds like there will be at least -some- free glasses available. If you go to another 3D movie this year you might want to try to snag a pair for just in case. That will be the first 3D movie for Movies in the Park.

Regards Star Wars, Disney-Pixar and other comments ... some film distributors are harder or more fickle to deal with than others. Or so I've been told.

There is a brief topless scene in Sixteen Candles, and there will be some language and content issues with this movie. 16 candles night may not a good night for bringing the kids. I would also caution for, ahem, violence in some other pictures, which is probably even more damaging to young psyches than nipples. There are a few movies that I wouldn't want my kids at for that reason. Parental guidance/common sense is always called for, even at movies in the park. But there is a pretty good variety here that should provide something for most comers from the toddlers to the tweenies to the Millenials, Gen Xers and beyond.

Wait...so you are encouraging us to steal from the local movie theaters?

wildgoose

Not at all. Don't steal from anyone, ever.

I changed the Sixteen Candles rating to R as that is what is listed on IMDB. I was copying from Twin Ports Nightlife which apparently got it wrong.

Oh, it gets more interesting. It was originally given an R rating but, apparently, it got rerated as PG upon appeal, so it was released under two ratings. This was before PG-13 so I imagine today it would be rated as PG-13.

I'd lean toward it being PG-13. But the Geek/Jake exchange at the party is definitely, and objectionably, R.

re: stealing from theatres.

They charge you extra for the glasses at 3D movies anyway. You might as well keep them since you paid for them.
