Setting the record straight

The best song by the Replacements is “I’m in Trouble” from  Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash. The best song by AC/DC is “Back in Black” from Back in Black. The best song by Ol’ Yeller is “Sulfur” from Nuzzle, and the best from the Glenrustles is “3 Perverts” from some Shaky Ray comp.  G’n’R’s best song is, of course, “Paradise City”, but mainly because of Slash’s guitar freak-out at the end. We all know that the best song featuring a sample from the theme song to “Sanford & Son” is “Old Man” by Masta Killer, featuring ODB and the RZA.

“Six Days”, “Dean’s Dream”, “Tacoland” and “Take Me Apart” are all tied as being the Dead Milkmen’s best songs, which means either a) the Dead Milkmen are really good at making mediocre songs I like or b) the Dead Milkmen are really good at making a bunch of really good songs.

Finally, I’m sure we can all agree that the best song ever is “Debaser” by the Pixies, from Doolittle.

Did I miss something? Everybody knows Back in Black is AC/DC's best song.

Cork, you're dead wrong. Everyone knows that "If you want blood, you got it" is AC/DC's best song, and as far as GnR goes, "Rocket Queen" trumps all. Amateur...

Hotrod, you are correct about GnR, but "Squealer" is tops in the AC/DC catalog.

(Fixed 'er good.)

I respectfully disagree.

Best Replacements song: Customer. Followed closely by Alex Chilton, and Hangin' Downtown.

Best AC/DC song: Shot Down In Flames.

Best GnR: I Don't Care About You(cover of the old Fear tune).

Best Dead Milkmen song: Punk Rock Girl, OR Bitchin' Camaro. Depends on what mood I'm in.

Here here on Dead Milkmen's Punk Rock Girl.

And from Doolittle... I'd say Tame and Debaser are in a dead heat.

Not really sure if this was up for debate :P But i'm throwing my two cents in nonetheless.

Whole Lotta Rosie is AC/DC's best song.

And the best Guns N' Roses song is either Coma or There Was A Time.

You're pretty much right on the rest, though.

Damn!! Forgot about Whole Lotta Rosie!!

Best Jimmy LaFave song: Sweetheart Like You. Awesome cover of the Dylan tune.

Debaser the best song ever? It's not even the Pixies best song! Sure it is in the top 5, but come on. The Holiday Song is easily the best. After that you can argue of whether, Debaser beats out Subbacultcha, Build High, Planet of Sound, and Tame. There is no arguement on what's number one, however. Shame on you for trying.

Danny you might be right on "Coma", best last 2 minutes of a song I've heard.

Say what you want about me, but I know my GNR.

You should give There Was A Time a shot, though. It's another big cluster-f of a song with way too many changes and way too many instruments (I'm pretty sure it has three seperate drummers alone). It's a beautiful, beautiful mess.

i'll agree with you on 'dean's dream' but 'tacoland'? interesting choice. i haven't listened to 'bucky fellini' in years, but i remember not caring for that album much...

my top 5 milkmen songs:

dean's dream
if you love somebody, set them on fire
vfw
ringo buys a rifle
i hate you, i love you

i also think 'soul rotation', their most hated album, is one of their best so it's very possible i have terrible taste.

What?!? no Bitchin Camaro?!?

No Where Hell Is Bill?!?

I am shocked and appalled.

IMO, Ween pales as compared to the Milkmen.

The best song of all time is "I Love a Rainy Night" by Eddie Rabbit.
