For those with DJ Abilities
This entry is twofold, so please bear with me:
A) Audiophiles, I need your help! I have some vinyl-only tracks I would like in a digital format ... have you had any luck with those record players that hook right up to your computer? I saw one at Best Buy for $130, but I'm wondering if it's worth it. Any advice would be much appreciated.
B) Speaking of "DJ abilities," does anyone have any hard-to-find releases featuring appearances by DJ Abilities (that they might be able to part with)? I'm particularly looking for his solo disc, E&A vinyl and the promo mix he did for El-P's "Fantastic Damage." Will pay or trade!

Kind of funny you are assking about the USB turntables, I wass just checking them out today on Amazon. Here is a AskMe thread asking about them. And here is the one on Amazon I'm thinking of getting.
Essentially this is saying that even though I haven't used them, the ratings are good, and they certainly seem like a viable technology.

Thanks, man, very helpful -- that's actually the same company that makes the one BB carries!

You don't need a USB turntable if your computer has an audio line-in jack (most do).
Just get an RCA-to-1/8" Y-adapter, plug one end into the "Tape Out" jacks on your stereo and the other end into the "Line-In" jack on your computer. Use the free program Audacity to record each track.
Total cost: Less than ten bucks.

Good point, but currently I don't have a turntable, and my computer and stereo are on different floors.
But, that is a good way to do it nonetheless
